Texas outscored UCF 23-4 in the second quarter and never trailed in the game as they ran away from the Knights, 87-56 on Saturday.

Madison Booker led Texas with 22 points and added five assists. Shaylee Gonzales played a complete game with 13 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals. Gonzales drew three offensive fouls on UCF in the game. Shay Holle played over 37 minutes and scored 14 points. Taylor Jones scored 15 points and shot 5-of-6 from the field and DeYona Gaston shot 6-of-6 from the field with 12 points. Jones added seven rebounds and drew an offensive foul on UCF.

The 22 points for Madison Booker was her 18th straight game scoring in double figures and her ninth game scoring 20 or more points this season. With her five assists Booker moved into fifth on the Longhorns all-time freshman assist list and now has 135 for the season. On the freshman scoring list for UT Booker is now eighth with 449 points this season. In Big 12 play Booker is averaging 19.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game, while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 93.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The Longhorns (26-3, 13-3) used an 8-0 run early in the first quarter and went up 10-2 on a 3-pointer by Shay Holle off an assist from Madison Booker.

Texas scored the first 10 points of the second quarter. DeYona Gaston made back-to-back buckets to get things started and Shaylee Gonzales scored her first points of the game on a 3-pointer to give Texas a 26-14 lead. The Longhorns ended the quarter with an 11-0 run.

The Longhorns shot 10-of-13 from the field in the final quarter and held UCF to 4-of-15 in the final frame. Texas outscored UCF 26-13 in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Up next Texas will travel to Norman, Okla., to take on Oklahoma on Wednesday, Feb. 28.

• With the victory Texas improves to 26-3 overall and 13-3 in Big 12 play.

• Texas has won eight straight games. The Longhorns have won five straight road games. For the season Texas is 9-1 on the road.
