Looking at an Acer Aspire 5315 and an HP Mini 311

These two laptops have nothing in common outside of me attempting to butcher 2010-era Team Fortress 2 enough to make it playable on these low-end machines from 2008. At 3 in the morning.

The first one of these laptops happens to be an HP Mini 311. This specific one has an Intel Atom N280, an Nvidia Ion dedicated GPU, 3GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive. It’s not fast. As a matter of fact, it’s so slow that TF2 took well over 10 minutes to load into a map. I was genuinely running out of things to say about that laptop before I got in-game.

The second of these laptops… well… I’m not even sure if this was a laptop sold in the US. It’s an Acer Aspire 5315. This one features an Intel Celeron 540, 1GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD that I had to use as this laptop did not come with its original hard drive.

Enjoy me attempting to make these laptops run a game it was never designed to run at settings it was never designed to run at.
