A double feature of dumb! But which is bad in its awfulness and which is awesome in its badness?

RUMINATIONS: The myth, the legend, the glory that is Brute Force.

Brute Force first came to my attention before I started doing videos, back in the days when I was just reviewing stuff in text form. I sent a message to the Agony Booth (where I was a frequent reader and poster of material in the forums) and I was contacted about doing a comics-based article for the site. Eventually, that became the Bat-Baby review I’ve mentioned on occasion (and the other two segments of which became the third episode of the show), but at one point the idea was floated by me to do a recap of an issue of Brute Force. I had no idea what Brute Force was at the time – it was simply pointed out to me that it was an attempt to make money by creating a book that would attract toy manufacturers. Honestly, I really wish it had succeeded, since Brute Force was 80s/90s toy tie-in GOLD. It was Transformers meets Captain Planet. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

But hey, it seems that Brute Force is returning finally in the pages of Deadpool, so here’s hoping that turns out to be enjoyable!

And then there’s the Others. Iron Liz, while hanging out in my room while we were working on one of the videos (either Ewoks or Chain Gang War – can’t recall which), she discovered a copy of Brute Force that had been donated to me sitting underneath the futon. Intrigued, she began reading it and was absolutely enamored with it. She told me I HAD to review it and I figured I’d put it on the review docket at some point. However, then I started reviewing the Others and I was so BORED by it. I hated to have to swap out another feature, since I had done a few already that year, so I decided to simply expand it into a double feature review. And thus Brute Force was introduced to an eager populace who demanded more.
