So you're on Instagram and you see anyone of your most favorite lifters pushing 350 lbs and a nasty stack of chains along with it. This is not just for likes or of attention, there are great reasons to use chains in your workout regiment ASAP. In this how-to use chains video matt breaks down the science behind how chains helped him overcome sticking points in all areas of his lifts while using them.

So what are chains, well unless you live under a rock they're the type of weight that gets harder as you lock out your lift. Giving your body a new environment to work in allows for you to train your CNS and muscle systems to pinpoint areas of your lifts that are sticking points and find ways to set those new pr's. So do you need chains at a beginner level lifter all the way to world-class strength? Yes. As long as you follow these guidelines to using chains for benching or squatting you will be well on your way to making great gains.

So you're lifting with chains now and you're noticing that your shoulder pain is getting a little better, well this is a benefit for chains because when you are at your lowest point in the lift chains are the lightest, allowing them to give your shoulder a little more of a rest. A great way to keep the mileage down!
