Sam Bowman - let all mortal flesh keep silence (LYRIC VIDEO)

hallelujah, Lord Most High.

I had the chance to cover an old song for this Advent season. It's a real deep cut of a hymn called "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence."

The song was written in Greek in the third century, and it's been translated and re-translated into all sorts of languages since then. So the Church has been singing this for nearly two thousand years. Kinda cool.

The song was inspired by Zechariah 2:13: "Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling." Christmas is a beautiful reminder of the majesty of God, the magnitude of our own sin, and the graciousness of Christ. When we're confronted with those things, sometimes our only right response is… silence.

The Christmas story is a story of the King's long-awaited arrival. He's here. Emmanuel. God with us. My response this Christmas is worship- silent worship.

You could follow me on all the socials, because literal Frosty the Snowman does too and I think he does cool things right
