Buxton Walks was about 10 miles in distance. The terrain of the route was a combination of moorland paths and tracks, a woodland path, farmland field paths and tracks plus some roads.The walking was undulating with some challenging ascents and descents in places. Route finding was generally easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. However, map-reading skills are advisable as the route through the Health and Safety Lab's estate may be changed at any time. Some of the moorland was very wet and muddy in places. There were about 18 stiles to negotiate.
