Описание к видео 1913 U.S. Open: Francis Ouimet Changes Golf Forever

Perhaps the most important victory in the history of American golf, 20-year-old Francis Ouimet defeated Brits Harry Vardon and Ted Ray in an 18-hole playoff to win the 1913 U.S. Open at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. Ouimet, who grew up across the street from the 17th hole, made birdie on that hole in both regulation and in the playoff, propelling him to victory over the duo that was considered the two biggest names in the game at that time.
