Islanders in Tuvalu celebrate their everyday fishing practice with hand-made canoes by having a competition early in the morning. The festival is held from time to time. The first returner with a big fish is the champion of the day. Women sing the island's original songs, dance and laugh on the beach.
( * Fishes here are a kind of Yellowfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Wahoo.)

I have been staying on remote islands in Tuvalu since 2004.
The footage is from our (I and my 7yr. old daughter then) second stay on Nanumaga island.
