Soloing Secrets - Michael Schenker

Описание к видео Soloing Secrets - Michael Schenker

Hey everyone! Here's the next episode of Soloing Secrets with the legendary Michael Schenker. There's no question that Michael Schenker's influence in rock, hard rock, and metal music cannot be underestimated or overexplained.

After the initial rush of heavy metal legends such as Jimmy Page, Tony Iommi, and Ritchie Blackmore spawned the flood of metal music that followed in their footsteps, Michael Schenker hit the scene and influenced millions of players from all over the world with his legendary and distinct music he created with Scorpions, UFO, and his own project MSG (to name a few).

The music/ideas in this episode were pulled from three classic Schenker-related albums, including the timeless Strangers In The Night live album from UFO, The Michael Schenker Group self-titled album from 1980, and the Built For Speed album from a few years later.

The ideas shared here include various bending/vibrato phrases, common scale sequences/legato movements that appear in Schenker's music, "stretch" pentatonic licks, in addition to a number of random ideas pulled from various songs.

We're also taking a look at using a wah pedal as a tone filter in this episode, which is an elusive way of using a wah that Michael helped pioneer back in the day. This tonal approach can really make the licks, phrases, and solos you play jump out in the mix when you're recording or during a live performance as well.

Needless to say, if you're a fan of Michael Schenker, classic hard rock/metal from the 1970s/1970s, a player looking for some timeless licks and phrases to explore and practice, or maybe you're just curious what all the fuss is about - this episode is totally for you!
