Music Vlog / Mia Morris /Ep. 12 “never done before”/ Nashville Multi-instrumentalist, Songwriter

Things have been busy so I’ve just been filming anytime I get the chance. Even though school is currently out, there has been an increase in the amount of calls I get to do various shows. I’ve also been doing a lot more co-writing, so while my summer is busy, at least it’s filled with music!

If you ever visit Nashville, especially with kids, you now have a new excuse to visit the Adventure Science Center - http://www.adventuresci.org/ I’m part of a new music exhibit there, and it really is a lot of fun :) In the second segment, you get a quick look at one of countless recording studios in the Nashville area. The last segment is a combination of a couple of recent Song Suffragette gigs where they allowed me to do some of my own original songs during the rounds. You also get to hear a bit of a brand new song from Parker McKay who, along with Livy Jeanne say some incredibly kind things. I really can’t say enough good things about the organizers of Song Suffragettes, Todd and Helena, along with the community of artists and songwriters that frequent the shows. I’ve learned so much, gotten so much encouragement, and gained genuine friends through playing in these shows. www.songsuffragettes.com has recently begun broadcasting the weekly show live at 6:15 Central time every Monday on their YouTube channel if you can’t see us in person.

I’m 15 years old and I want to be a professional musician when I grow up. I try to play lots of instruments but the one that I feel most at home on is a drum set. I would say the only thing that impresses me more than a great musician is a great songwriter so I also spend some of my time trying to learn the magic of songwriting. I thought it would help me keep focused on music if I started a drum series where I learned a new song every couple of weeks. After 4 years, it’s now turned into a larger musical search but my goal hasn’t changed. Hopefully, I will keep doing it, keep loving music and keep getting better.
