[General Comments]

I have LOTS of Guan Yu videos....each one improving on the before it.
Now Guan Yu has a longer Musou bar with a Medium weight weapon.
I'm not going to spend time discussing the evolution of his maximization. Let just jump straight into what he's got now.

Sorry. Lots of getting shot at in this video. A very good run, minus the getting shot at.

[Maximization Comments]
good with both light and medium weapons
a light weapon gives him the abilty to execute C6 in a lot of scenarios, while its success rate is much much lower with a medium weapon
medium weapon is generally limited to normal attacks, and C3 for maximization
light weapon with Musou bonus (his 4th weapon) with the Ice orb then, means good chance for freezing officers -- leads to one-Musou-KO
a medium weapon with Musou bonus won't allow for a One-Musou-KO, but there is a certain combo that is decently consistent that will kill generic officers in one go. This method is typically faster than anything a light weapon has to offer and has higher chances (vs the Ice Orb's 40% of leading to a one-Musou-KO)
normal attacks are very slow with a Heavy weapon
medium weapon attacking speed is safe in crowds when used properly, but unlike other characters with long reach and good attack range, Guan Yu can't abuse only normal attacks by purposely stopping after certain attacks (although abusing his first two normals will work in smaller crowd sizes)
maximized offense involves connecting Musou filling and Musou offense phases together, because of his inability to separate them -- result is a lot more planning and predicting when Musou will fill and how depending on scenarios
short range 3rd and 5th normal attacks and somewhat slow attacking speed limits Guan Yu to approaching crowds with no threats behind him -- never attacking when surrounded
with this setup, Guan Yu's typical offense requires a full True Musou, and roughly a full 5-6 normal attacks, so a full normal attack string. This string may either precede or follow a Musou.
against playable officers, the strategy is the same, except Guan Yu needs to add an extra SHORT True Musou into the combo, before the full True Musou. The combo then looks like this: short C3 - short True Musou - two to four normal attacks to refill Musou quickly - full True Musou - follow up normal attacks
maximized methods with reference to the video:
1) Fill with normal attacks against a non-blocking officer (Zhu Ling, Man Chong): In this case, the normal attacks required will precede the full True Musou. If not enough attacks were used, you can follow up with a few more after the Musou. This method has the limitation of not filling Musou before his 6th normal, in which case the 6th normal will hit the officer away, and risk a wasted Musou.
2) Fill with normal attacks against a blocking officer (Cheng Pu, Xu Sheng): An officer will attack after blocking an attack from you that requires recovery time (or is programmed to be a finishing attack). This is why you can execute Musou after 6th normal almost as a direct anticipation. This method will require a full normal attack string after the Musou. This method has inconsistencies if the crowd sizes are too scattered or tough to deal with (Xu Sheng)
3) Execution of C6 against an officer (Niu Jin, Xu Huang): Do this when possible, to try for the Ice Orb. This will give a faster offense -- usually much faster against playable officers. Offense vs Xu Huang would have been cut by half if Ice worked there.
4) Fill with C3 against non-blocking officer (not shown): typically the same outcome as 1) except this is less safe and has less Musou filling potential. The attractive point is attempting Ice for a very fast offense.
5) Fill with C3 against blocking officer (not shown): typically same outcome as 2) except less safe and less filling potential.
6) Abuse normal attacks and short True Musous (Jiang Qin, Zhu Ran): only works in massive crowds, but very effective. Very good against multiple officers. Try to estimate the distance from officers to avoid blocking.
very useful to reserve peons for Musou filling by isolating the officer during Musou (Lu Meng, Cao Ren)

[Tier List Comments]
Guan Yu is a mid-tier character
quite a few cases with variable offensive speeds -- can often be as fast as the 1-Musou-KO types, but not perfectly consistent.
poor against archers (True Musou clears surrounding crowds and stands in same spot for a long time)
average against mounted officers
very good against multiple officers
very good crowd clearer
