Pathrode Recipe Mangalorean Style | Konkani Style Pathrode Gassi in Coconut Gravy | Colocasia Leaves | Colocasia Leaves Pathrode Recipe

Ingredients :

Boiled Rice/Ukda Rice -3 cups
Red chillies -3
Tamarind - 1 marble size
Salt -1 tsp
Cumin seeds -1 tsp
Add little water and grind to a thick batter.

Colocasia leaves : 15-20 leaves
wash and pat dry them. Fold and slice the leaves as shown in the video.

Add these leaves into batter and combine well, form a stiff dough.
Make rice balls or cylinder shapes from the dough and steam it for 15 minutes in a steamer.
once cooked, keep it aside to cool.

For the gravy, Roast below ingredients
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
10 peppercorns
1 cinnamon
3 cardamom
5 cloves
3 short chillies (spice purpose)
12 Baydgi chillies
Roast them on medium flame and keep it aside to cool.
1 tbsp oil
2 medium sliced onions
6-8 garlic cloves
2.5 cups of fresh coconut
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1 marble size of tamarind.
water to grind.

Preparation of Pathrode gravy
2 tbsp oil+ 2 tbsp ghee
1 large size onion
1 sprig of curry leaves
add ground masala
simmer for few minutes
add masala water
cover the pan, and let curry boil for few minutes on low flame
salt to taste
mix well, add pathrode pieces.
gently stir and cover the pan
let gravy merge well with pathrode pieces on low flame for 10 minutes.
salt to taste.
you can garnish with fried onions..
flame off .serve after 30 minutes.
