In September 2024’s Living With Parkinson’s Meetup, we welcomed a guest panelist, Ben Stetcher. Among other advocacy, Ben, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s when he was 29, has served on patient advisory boards, co-authored books with movement disorder specialists, and participated in clinical trial.

Recently, Ben participated in research where he experienced adaptive DBS, and this was a topic the panel discussed at length during the meetup. Other topics discussed include the utility (and risks) of tracking symptoms, functional exercise, and considerations about building relationships with your care team.
