Kawakawa Bay: A Lake Taupo Sailing Mission

A bit of an epic adventure in this video. My friends Andy and Katherine had 2 days to sail the boat and travel about, but I only had one. So I decided to make it happen. I positioned a vehicle and had a 25 km bike ride from Kinloch to Taupo. Then we launched the boat (A 1980 Davidson M20 trailer sailor) and had an incredible sail on Lake Taupo back to the area I left the car. We stayed overnight in Kawakawa bay on the western side of Lake Taupo, feasting on the rainbow trout we caught trolling on the lake. The next morning I had an amazing padddleboard mission back to Kinloch to get the car, to drive back home and be ready for work.

So.... cycling, sailing, fishing for trout, staying overdoing in the Western Bays on Lake Taupo, Stand Up Paddleboarding on Lake Taupo from Kawakawa Bay to Kinloch and back to Taupo to breakfast. Mission accomplished. All the elements worked out perfectly.
