Adventure Under the Sea: A Dance/Movement Therapy Moment

Amy Ruzic Hunter, BC-DMT, LPC is a board-certified Dance/Movement Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in the treatment of children with emotional and behavioral needs and children on the Autistic Spectrum. She graduated from the Creative Arts in Therapy program at Hahnemann University (now Drexel University) in 2002, and has since worked with a variety of youth populations in Chicago and Philadelphia, including children in a crisis and inpatient setting, junior sexual offenders in residential placement, adoptive families, and children with developmental delay. She has worked at Green Tree School & Services as an Outpatient Dance/Movement Therapist for seven years, and is currently the Managing Lead Clinician for the Green Tree Partnerships Program, working to integrate and supervise creative, trauma-informed groups into Philadelphia Charter Schools. She has also lead Dance/Movement therapy groups with families at the Philadelphia Family Court for seven years through the grant-funded program Creative Arts for Everyone. Amy is a clinical supervisor for graduate students and young professionals in the field of Dance/movement therapy and Professional Counseling. She has provided in-services and lectures at universities and conferences for the past decade and is a strong advocate for the benefits and healing potential of the arts, creative play, and metaphor.
