For the record I think all of these games are great in their own way regardless of having some of the WORST endings in the series. Shin Megami Tensei is known for giving players the agency of shaping the world in your image. This is not a top 5 smt games video or a top 5 WORST smt games video in any way. Full disclosure, my smt alignment is usually law but I love to dive deep into the smt lore of each characters backstory and motivation for choosing their ideal. Though despite how lofty the end goals are in these games, there are a good amount of smt bad endings. This video was kind of difficult to make since, but ever since I made the top 5 best endings in SMT I was asked to make the Top 5 WORST Shin Megami Tensei Endings as well. This video will also serve somewhat as an smt endings explained video as well as the top 5 worst endings, so you will get your fill of smt lore. With Shin Megami Tensei being one of my favorite series' ever made, some controversial opinions are par for the course, and smt endings are the main topic of discussion for most people. smt alignment is a hot button topic and rightly so. It’s why I came to love the series so much. That being said, a perfect world is different to each person, and there are usually plenty of options to choose from, including destroying the world entirely. I talk a lot about the amazing themes and philosophical questions posed by these games. Almost every entry in the series has heated debates as to which ending is the best, and I’ve even given my personal top 5. With discussions of the best though, it also begs the question as to which ones are the worst. I’ve gathered my highly subjective thoughts as to which 5 endings in the series are the least narratively satisfying. I’ll endeavor to explain my reasoning for the entries on the list, but we all have our biases. Without any further ado, let’s talk about these nightmare worlds.
