high quality basmati rice 1/2 kg ( soak 30 mins then boil 80 % with salt 2 tbsp or to taste )
ghee or oil 4 tbsp to 1/2 cup ( as much you like )
onion 1 medium sliced
yogurt 1/2 cup
star anise 1
small cinnamon pieces 2 to 3
cloves 5
black peppers 10
black cardamom 1
garlic paste 1 tbsp
green hot chilies 2 to 3 or more
ginger 1 tbsp
mint 3 to 4 tbsp
coriander 3 to 4 tbsp
tomatoes 1 medium sliced
chicken powder 1 tbsp or cubes 2
garam masala pwd 1/2 tsp
cumin pwd 1/2 tsp
cumin seeds 1 tsp
turmeric 1/4 tsp
coriander pwd 1 tbsp
red chili pwd 3/4 tbsp or to taste
salt 1/2 tsp ( rice and chicken pwd also have salt so add accordingly )
foor color orange and yellow
desi ghee 1 tbsp
biryani essence 1 tsp
