Roads in Tasmania (83) Dec 2023 Travel Day Huonville to Cockle Creek- 82kms- Zone RV Off-road

We continue our journey south to Cockle Creek, the southernmost campground in Tasmania. The excitement of getting there makes us commit a rookie error of not putting the directions into either of the two navigation systems we have on board….
So, after a bit of a detour into state forest, we get back on track toward our goal.
The south coastal towns we pass are just gorgeous and we plan to visit them when we return to the area after exploring the southernmost end.
A short drive for the day on both bitumen and gravel.
The camping areas around Cockle Creek are stretched along the coast. The southernmost being inside the National Park. We opted to stay just outside the National Park boundary with our friends. The spots available in the Park didn’t offer us as much sunlight for the batteries and looked a bit closed in, but it is worth driving down there to see if your rig could be accommodated. There’s a big turning circle at the end to turn around if you don’t find anything suitable.
