We get the call to
Head to toward Launceston to have our fridge replaced. Hooray! We are having a party… but perhaps prematurely? More on that later.
We zip up to Evandale for a night stop that has us within cooee of Launceston for the early morning arrival the next day. We free camp at the market grounds in town as it’s mid week and they allow it then.
Karen apologies for the early morning video there as she isn’t very lively first thing, and we are up early to squeeze in a walk before we have to sit at the repairers for goodness knows how long.
The fridge going in and out of the van is quite traumatic for us as we love our van and it’s rather like watching an operation on a loved one. After a few mishaps and sitting for about 2 hrs waiting to see if the new fridge in fact worked, we are able to head off to buy some groceries! A real party this time.
We hope to stay at Lake Leake tonight, so we make the drive down. After checking it out we made the decision to not stay there. It was raining and very dreary and the campground was a tight squeeze for a van our size. So to stay on the Lake wouldn’t have been the feel we had hoped for. So after taking stock at the local inn we head off to seek out Oatlands, and possibly catch Raw Adventures if they are still there.
The windmill at Oatlands, right outside our van window is a real delight for Monique- the one with the Dutch heritage in our crew.
So, karmonajourney, over 2 days, to live the stress of van repairs and maybe see a part of Tassie that you haven’t seen before. So glad to have you along again. Our next couple of episodes will showcase Oatlands and, hopefully, some interesting places around there. So stay tuned…
