අනේපිඩු සිටුතුමාගේ ගවයින් බලාගත් නන්ද ගොපල්ලා ඉතාමත් දක්ෂයි. එනිසාම ගවපට්ටිය විශාල වුණා. මොහු ඉතාමත්ම නිහතමානියි. එනිසා අනේපිඬු සිටුතුමා යටතේම දිගටම සේවය කළා. නන්ද ගොපල්ලා තෙරුවන් කෙරෙහි මහත් පැහැදීමකින් හිටියා. නිතර දෙව්රම් වෙහෙරට ගොස් බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේගෙන් බණ අසනවා.

දවසක් නන්ද ගොපල්ලා බුදුරදුන්ට තම නිවසේ දානයකට ආරාධනා කළා. ශ්‍රද්ධාවෙන් බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ සහ භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලාට තම නිවසට වැඩමවූවා. ඉතා රසවත් වූ දන් සත් දවසක් පුරාවට මහ දන් දුන්නා. අවසන් දිනයේදී බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ විසින් වදාරණ ලද දේශනාව අසා සෝවාන් ඵලයට පත් වුණා.

බුදුරදුන් නැවත විහාරයට වඩිද්දී නන්ද ගොපල්ලා ගෞරව භක්තියෙන් යුක්තව උන්වහන්සේ පසුපසින් ගියා. උන්වහන්සේට මහත් ආදරයෙන්ම වන්දනා කළ නන්ද ගොපල්ලා ආපසු නිවස කරා එන්නට පිටත් වුණා. එකවරම කැලයෙන් ආ ඊතලයක් නන්ද ගොපල්ලාගේ ශරීරය විනිවිද ගියා. නන්ද ගොපල්ලා මියගියා.

බුදුරදුන් දේශනාකලා සසරේ කරන ලද කර්ම විපාකයක් නිසා නන්ද ගොපල්ලා මිය ගිය බව. නන්දට කර්මයෙන් ගැලවීමට හැකියාවක් නැතිබව දේශනාකලා.

One day Nanda Gopala invited the Buddha to alms at his house. With faith, the Lord Buddha and the monks went to their home. Very tasty gifts were given for seven days. On the last day, after hearing the sermon given by the Lord Buddha, Sovan became fruitful.

When the Buddha returned to the temple, Nanda Gopala followed him with reverence. Nanda Gopala, who worshiped him with great love, left to return home. Suddenly an arrow from the forest penetrated Nanda Gopala's body. Nanda Gopala died.

That Nanda Gopala died as a result of Karma caused by Buddha's sermons. Nanda preached that there is no way to escape from karma.
