Blackpool (Talbot Gateway) Business District,work starts,2012 video 1

OCTOBER 2012 and work is underway for the start of the Talbot Gateway £220m project now known as "The Central Business District" project at the top end of Talbot Road alongside Blackpool,s North Railway Station.It could take over 2 years to complete but will be creating hundreds of new jobs while transforming a long neglected part of Blackpool.The old Talbot Road Bus Station will be refurbished and used as a Multi-Storey Car Park and should re-open at some time in 2013. The new Centre will be a mix of new office,Business space.s,Hotel,shops,cafe and Restaurant all set within open spaces. There was also talk of laying new tram tracks from North Pier along Talbot Road to link up the Centre and The North Railway Station at some time in the future .Over the years from 2006 it was known as the Talbot Gateway Project, but it is now known as the Blackpool" The Central Business District," The project is a Partnership with Muse Developments and Blackpool Council. The new Sainsbury,s Supermarket to be built on site will be a 60,000sqr ft store with car parking for 600 cars, and will employ around 400 local people with 70% of the jobs being full time.
