Dr. Sanjaya Satapathy is a Professor of Medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University and Associate Chief of Hepatology at Northwell Health. He serves as Medical Director of Liver Transplantation and Program Director of the Transplant Hepatology Fellowship at Northshore University Hospital. His expertise includes NAFLD, hepatitis C, liver transplantation outcomes, NASH-related complications, and sarcopenia. He is also skilled in advanced endoscopy techniques, including EUS and ERCP.
Dr. Satapathy has over 180 peer-reviewed articles, with more than 8,000 citations and an h-index of 43. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology, and holds a Master's in Epidemiology from the University of Tennessee. He has received numerous research grants, including from the NIH, and is a Fellow of several prestigious organizations, including AASLD and ACG.
He serves as Editor-in-Chief for Translational Gastroenterology and Hepatology and has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor from 2021 to 2024. Dr. Satapathy was also a finalist for the Truly Rising Star and Mentorship Awards by Northwell Health.
