Achilles Past That No One Talks About

Описание к видео Achilles Past That No One Talks About

Let's talk About Achilles. And Odysseus. Oh, and Paris and Helen — basically, let's talk about all the people that either directly or indirectly caused the Trojan War, and later also became its main players. No, this is not my Trojan War video — that will come next. This is a video about how the Trojan War started and how Achilles and Odysseus reluctantly became a part of it.

Notes:
For this video, I don't actually have a lot of notes, because it is quite the contained story. The next video will probably be very note-heavy, since I'll be covering the Trojan War, and that's gonna be a pain. That being said, I will probably try to contain the Trojan War video to 30 minutes or ideally 45 minutes, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being an hour. I actually never plan to make 1 hour videos, you know? Sometimes... it just happens haha

That being said, after the Trojan War, I will be covering The Odyssey (Odysseus' long way home) and with that... I will wrap up Greek Mythology for now and embark on new topics. I haven't decided where to go yet... maybe more contemporary history, like Hemingway or Van Gogh, or maybe keep the history/mythology split and replace the Greek Mythology Saturdays with Egyptian Mythology? Or Sumerian? Or various tales from around the world like Beowulf and Baba Yaga? Many places to take it, and I would like to hear from you in the suggestions. That also let's me know how many people actually read these notes haha

Scene Credit:
All the scenes in the beginning are taken from Ridley Scott's Troy, which is a great movie if you disregard that it's horrible in terms of historical/mythological accuracy. But if you look at it as being 'inspired by' mythology... it's good fun.

- C Major Prelude, by this Bach guy you might have heard of
