Woodturning - Spalted Silver Birch log to bowl.

Описание к видео Woodturning - Spalted Silver Birch log to bowl.

Hello and welcome! In this video I take a spalted sliver birch log and make a curvy bowl on the woodturning lathe.

I originally got this wood in April 2021 and it had been sat under a cover until October 15th when I prepared and sealed this blank. The plan was to set it aside again and wait a little longer for the piece to dry out some more but.. after seeing the spalting I couldn't wait any longer so here it is.

Shaped and sanded to outside to 320 grit, sealed with Chestnut Product's Cellulose Sanding Sealer and polished up with Yorkshire Grit Original and Microfine. The inside was sanded and coated with flaxseed oil.
