Many centuries ago, this place was known as Kumarhatta. During the Mughal regime, the place was called Haveli Shahar. From Haveli Shahar, this place is now known as Halisahar.

Situated in North 24 Pargana district, this place has huge historical importance. Halisahar is the birthplace of eminent personalities like Rani Rasmani and Sadhak Ramprasad Sen. One can find many old temples, old houses, ghats, and many more.

I have planned to visit Halisahar for a long time but got the opportunity in January 2022. I made a plan to visit some important places near Halisahar and Kachrapara. The video lists all the places I have visited. For your information, I have given the map locations below.

Rathtala Mandir Park - An Atchala Krishna Temple built in 1785. See the beautiful deities.

How to reach: Catch a train (Kalyani Simanta/Ranaghat/Krishnanagar/Gede) from Sealdah/Barrackpore/Dumdum/Naihati. Get down at Kanchrapara and catch an Auto/Toto to Bag more (Fare 15/-). From Bag more, you can reserve a toto to cover all the places. There is very limited toto service to the locations.
