Pallavi: May I come in, my lord, to stand near you and sing, and dance your praise?

Anupallavi: You are full of immense grace. May I endear myself to you? I want to stand close to you and watch your blissful dance. May I come near you?

CaraNam: I am born in this earth in a low status. I did not do any meritorious deeds either. But I am coming near you. I think I have crossed the cycle of birth and death. I have swum ashore the ocean of the vicious cycle of birth and death. I am seeking your shelter. Oh, lord of tillai, please get rid of my agony and sin.
