Larkin High Football: AT ELGIN October 30 1992

Elgin entered this game 5-3 overall, 5-2 in conference and Larkin entered the game 4-4, 4-3 in conference. Elgin drew first blood when Maron Stewart scored on a 6 yard runat 7:19 of the first quarter, Rich Busch kicking the extra point for a 7-0 lead. At 11:28 of the second quarter, a Donnie Johnson 1 yard run and another kick gave Elgin a 14-0 lead. Larkin came to life when Damon McDaniel threw a 23 yard touchdown pass to Terrence Blalark, Matt Gimpert kick good, at 7:15 of the second quarter. Larkin tied the game on a 6 yard run by Myrance Johnson, kick good, with 1:06 left before the half and the score remained 14-14 at halftime. Elgin broke the tie on a 15 yard run by Johnson at 6:33 of the third quarter, kick good. Larkin fumbled the ball away deep in their territory, and a 10 yard pass from Justin Williams to Jermaine Williams, kick good, made it 28-14 Elgin at 2:02 in the third quarter. Larkin had a drive to get back in the game end at the 1 yard line. Elgin put the game out of reach on a 55 yard run by Corey Hodges with only 2:43 left in the game. Myrance Johnson got an 8 yard consolation touchdown run as the clock expired.
