Henri Korn - Holocaust Survivor Testimony

Henri was born in Wuppertal, Germany in 1929. His parents had moved there from Poland and they assimilated so well that it was a shock to Henri when he was forced to leave his school because he was Jewish.

In Spring 1939 the family fled to Brussels, Belgium. As the situation became difficult, Henri's parents organised for him and his sister to be hidden by a Christian lady. She convinced them that being Jewish was not good, so they converted to Catholicism.

The family survived - Henri's father in hiding and his mother on false papers - and were reunited following the liberation of Belgium in 1944.
