In today's jazz guitar lesson, you'll get to know the awesome sus b9 chord. This one is derived from the second mode of the melodic minor scale (phrygian 6 or dorian b2 mode or assyrian scale).
I'll teach you the theory behind the melodic minor ii mode / dorian b2 mode and how the susb9 chord is created. I'll show you a trick, to use a simple minor triad over a differnet root, thus creating a slash chord, that makes things so much easier.

We'll then systematically explore the dorian b2 chords voicings all over the fretboard, by inverting chord voicings we already know.

Then you'll learn some hip sus b9 licks on guitar, that use the melodic minor 2 / dorian b2 mode. Since the sus b9 chord functions as a V, that needs to resolve to its I chord, you'll also learn how to resolve those sus b9 guitar licks.
