Leaders -- Aim for the bull's eye, not the target | Michael Angelo Caruso on goals with numbers

Описание к видео Leaders -- Aim for the bull's eye, not the target | Michael Angelo Caruso on goals with numbers

Leadership is knowing when to say "yes" and when to say "no," says Michael Angelo Caruso at a leadership event in New Jersey.

It's also about the difference between "net" and "gross." #goals

Teams need to know the precise goal, not the approximate goal. That's why it's good to measure results.

Business entities measure sometimes measure success based on how much money is generated, but gross revenue (the total dollars generated) is different than net revenue (the dollars left after expenses).

In order to achieve specific, pre-determined goals, leaders should help teams aim for the center of the target and not just the target (net vs. gross)

This requires discipline and the ability to avoid distractions.

Aim for the bull's eye, not the target
Focus on a number, not a feeling
Say no to distractions

The Mel Gibson character in the movie, "The Patriot," coaches his team to, "Aim small [to] miss small."
