Pikachu's Moves - History Behind Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Описание к видео Pikachu's Moves - History Behind Super Smash Bros. Brawl

PLEASE READ THIS VIDEO DESCRIPTION!

This video shows where I believe some of Pikachu's moves come from or my ideas behind what possibly influenced some of his moves.

By the way, I don't mean for my videos to come out this long. My goal is not to intentionally make videos as long as some television shows.

So, at this point, I think it's a good time to re-establish the focus of my project. All I do is present what I know and what I have found out through looking deeper at some aspects of the original sources of Brawl. I am not claiming that everything in my videos is 100% accurate or 100% complete. However, I do my best to cover everything I know or have found out as best as I can in a concise manner.

With that being said, researching some aspects of Volt Tackle led me into an unusual chain of possible references. While I can't say with 100% certainty what is referencing what, all I can really do is present the evidence I found for the references, even if no particular conclusion can be drawn.

Furthermore, a few of Pikachu's moves were inconclusive as to what the actual sources (or inspirations) were, when looking at the Pokémon series. (Chances are, a few aspects about Pikachu's moves were simply made up for the Smash Bros. series.)

So, try to keep this things in mind when watching this video. Hope you enjoy it!

On a related note, I feel like my video on Pikachu's moves in Melee was kinda... fail. I'm actually considering deleting it. I may or may not. I'll have to think about it.

One more thing: If you're interested in some of the technical aspects of Pikachu speaking in Pokémon Yellow, you might want to look at this web page:

----------

If you're wondering why Pikachu has moves he shouldn't, is so leveled, why he levels DOWN in Yellow, etc... The short answer is that I used tools to help me out in making this video, otherwise acquiring the video clips I needed would be EXTREMELY time consuming and difficult. I used these tools:

http://www.projectpokemon.org/editing...

http://www.cyclopsds.com/cgi-bin/cycl...

I used Gameshark codes to help me out with Pokémon Emerald.

I had to purchase a CycloDS to transfer edited Pokémon from Diamond and Pearl into Battle Revolution, since Battle Revolution doesn't work with any other DS storage devices.

As for why Pikachu levels down in Pokémon Yellow:
I couldn't find a tool that would work specifically with Pokémon Yellow saves. However, the editor for Red and Blue would open Yellow save files just fine. But in the game, when Pikachu would level in an edited save, he would go down, and the game would think that it was the first time Pikachu reached that level. Thus he would learn a move even if he was already at a higher level. So in other words, the save editor for Red and Blue would work with Yellow, but it wasn't quite 100% compatible.

In case you don't have annotations turned on, from 16:28 to 16:39 , I say:

I am aware there are short descriptions of moves in Pokémon Stadium 2. However, most of them basically stated the type of attack and its effect (on the user or target) and very rarely how the attack is executed. The description for Submission said nothing like how Pikachu performs a back-throw in Melee/Brawl.

...It seems like the software I use for editing these videos screwed up the audio in two places. And, as usual, I don't notice until the video is already uploaded on YouTube and processed. The music that starts playing at 2:11 is supposed to start playing at 2:04 and the part that plays at 2:34 is supposed to play at 2:27. Basically, the battle music is supposed to play when the trading cards are shown. (I even had the fading of the music to match the transitions.) When I went back to fix something in the earlier part of the video, the battle music I added did not stay with the video where I had originally placed it, but instead stayed at the same spot in the video timeline, thus skewing where the audio plays in the video. I was NOT aware that the video editing software I use does this. I will know better next time.
