DISA History Minute: White House Communications Agency

Описание к видео DISA History Minute: White House Communications Agency

In 1942, following U.S. entry into WW2, the War Department unified communications in the executive branch by creating the White House Signal Detachment. By 1962, DISA’s predecessor, the Defense Communications Agency, was granted administrative control of the more robust White House Communications Agency. From then on, WHCA supported the U.S. President and the executive branch in all aspects of the mission on land, air, sea, space and cyberspace. Now more than ever, DISA and WHCA work together to support the president worldwide.

About DISA
DISA is the U.S. Department of Defense's premier IT agency, responsible for maintaining the DOD's global information technology infrastructure. As a combat support agency, DISA conducts operations for the U.S. military to enable lethality across all warfighting domains - on land, at sea, in the air, space and cyberspace - in defense of the United States of America. DISA also provides communication services to the White House in support of the President of the United States.
