14: Interactively Color Grading Landscapes - Smart Masks and Curve Atlas Tables in Unreal

Описание к видео 14: Interactively Color Grading Landscapes - Smart Masks and Curve Atlas Tables in Unreal

In this video learn how to easily and quickly setup an art directable Unreal Landscape material with feature-aware functions that allow you to Color grade the terrain interactively with your director, art lead, colleagues, or on your own work. Perfect for production, or collaborative work.

Create custom color gradients and map them to the terrain according to features like slope angle and height. With a little extra work, you could also find features like peaks and valleys.

Avoid producing a global terrain texture in external software, by hand or from sattelite data, and arrive at your final results in engine through an interactive and fun process of tweaking curves live in-engine.

This is the fastest way to dramatically alter a terrains appearance, and offers as much control as texturing in an external software.

And YES I lied about not using any tiling 2D textures. Woops! It wasn't my intention, but in this video it is used differently. The noise offsets the slope mask and the height mask, rather than directly tinting in the way that noise if often used. It's more akin to "distortion". Even so, my apologies for contradicting myself and I hope that it did not lead to too much confusion.
