Food Crisis for Mothers and Children in Yemen

Описание к видео Food Crisis for Mothers and Children in Yemen

Families displaced by eight years of war in Yemen are struggling to afford food.

Fleeing conflict, Fatima Muhammed Saeed and her four children left everything behind. Now they are living in a camp for internally displaced people in Aden, with no source of income. She describes tying a cloth tightly around her stomach to help her endure hunger pains. "My children cannot tolerate the hunger the way I do," she explains.

"We used to have sheep and livestock, so if we needed something, we used to sell one of the livestock to buy wheat, sugar, tea and everything we needed," she said. "We used to drink cow's milk and goat milk, and our children were living a really great life. But everything is gone now."

UNICEF-supported mobile clinics provide urgently needed nutrition support to families in Yemen, and screen and treat children for malnutrition.
