AMAZING 60s American/CEDER TRAFFIC-MASTER Traction Elevators at The Heyburn Building, Louisville, KY

Now THIS is what I call an AMAZING ELEVATOR SYSTEM!!!!!
This is by far the best I saw in Louisville!!! Don't get me wrong, Discovering the Current State of the Starks Building DID really upset me, but I didn't let it ruin my day to explore Louisville, cause guess what!?!? I found the next best thing!!! I found another Historic Office Building with a ANTIQUE Elevator System that's still going that is installed by yet another brand I can add to my ever so growing list of "Generic" Elevator brands I've discovered!!!! Being this building was built in 1928, these are obviously not original, but the mod is still VINTAGE, so who cares!?!?
Also, not to mention, this particular model of this "Generic" Vintage Brand I discovered was their version of Otis Autotronic and Westinghouse Selectomatic, and since CEDER was indeed actually a 3rd Party Dover Distributor, which you'll see in some upcoming videos of other CEDERs I filmed!!!! That being said, this could very easily be a 3rd Party Install of the Dover Computamatic System, Dover's version of Autotronic & Selectomatic, which is VERY VERY RARE!!!!

While one COP in each elevator car was replaced with Adams likely in the 90s, these otherwise remain TOTALLY ORIGINAL from the 1960s, with the other COPs which are Circle Armor fixtures, as well as their original indicators, Arrows, Armor call stations, controllers, etc.!!!! But in all honesty, who cares!?!?!? AT LEAST they kept the OTHER COPs and call stations original and are otherwise untouched!!!! BUILDING OWNERS, TAKE NOTES!!!! THIS IS HOW to modernize an elevator AND Make it ADA Complaint!!!! YES, it can be done without destroying ANY Historic or Antique Charm!!!!
Not to mention, the White Armor fixtures are in MINT CONDITION and looks GORGEOUS as well as the Indicator and Call Stations with CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!!!!
Also, the acceleration these have is SUPER FIERCE and ROCKET LIKE whenever it goes up at FULL SPEED and also when it goes down, it DROPS!!!! And when stopping at 17 it over shoots the floor and drops back down to level!!!! As a result, the ride quality is A BLAST and is VERY FUN and THRILLING and BY FAR one of the funnest I've seen in an elevator!!! Despite this though, they still are fairly smooth and run FLAWLESSLY!!!!
Being this building is from 1928, these were modded and automated in the 60s. While it's obvious the doors, fixtures and controllers were replaced, I'm not sure if the motor is original or not. It very easily could be though judging by the ride quality!!!! But what I can confirm is the Cabs are indeed original!!!! Notice the door on the side of the cab, as well as the fact the doors are not in the center and how the original COPs are so thin!!!! The proof is all around you these were originally Manually Controlled!!!
Also, in addition to the BEAUTIFUL FIXTURES, THRILLING Ride Quality, Being a Brand Nobody else but me and Andrew have seen, the BEAUTIFUL TRAFFIC MASTER Panel and the fact they've been made ADA Compliant the right way and have their original cabs, they ALSO have BEAUTIFUL BELLS that sound like Old School Rotary Phones!!!!! Also, these feature ELEVATOR MUSIC, like all High Tech Relay Logic systems from this era do although this is the first time I've seen this feature IN USE, and also, notice that the color of the cabs is DIFFERENT in EACH elevator I ride here!!!! I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE!

Overall, this is just an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, CUTTING EDGE, and INCREDIBLE Elevator System that is FULL of CHARACTER, VERY ORIGINAL, VERY THRILLING TO RIDE, Made ADA Compliant in the right way and also has LOTS of Unique Features that most elevators don't have!!!! As a result, this system WILL go down in History as one of my BEST FINDS I've EVER found, I couldn't think of a better video to upload for my Birthday, I HIGHLY Recommend riding these if coming to Louisville, and these things BETTER NOT EVER BE MODDED!!!!

And while the Manually Controlled Elevators that used to be here may be long gone, ONE was kept original as the freight elevator, and while I was told I couldn't ride it, at least we got a look at the inside of it, and it turns out these were originally AMERICAN ELEVATORS!!!! NOT ONLY is the BRAND that modded the passengers VERY RARE, but the ORIGINAL 1928 Manual Freight Elevator also happens to be the FOURTH of it's kind to EVER be found by an elevator enthusiast on YouTube!!! (NOTE that I ALSO found the THIRD of its' kind, in Avon Park back in January!!!)

That all being said, enjoy the video of what is probably one of the BEST and MOST UNIQUE in terms of fully automatic elevator systems I've EVER SEEN!

Modernized/Automated: Circa 1960s (CEDER with New Controllers, White Circle Armor Fixtures, New Automatic Doors, Lanterns, Indicators, Call Stations, etc. Cabs, as well as the Freight Elevator were left Original from 1928, and I believe the DC Motors and LOUD Generators are original!!!!)
