There's saying in Filipino that say's, "Kung may itinanim, may aanihin". That literally means, if you sow, you reap. If you plant, you harvest. If hardworking, you have something to eat.

Today, I planted eggplant seedlings beside the rice fields. When it grows and is ready to harvest, I'll show it to you. I harvested some chayote and added it to tinola, a Filipino chicken soup. I also cooked ginisang sayote (sauteed chayote with eggs).
