Let’s go over 10 common Hawaiian words and places/names that are often mispronounced by visitors and even locals. Hopefully, when you say these words, you won’t be embarrassed or second-guess yourself in Hawaii. And I’m not approaching this as some authoritative source who is here to scold you or put you to shame. In full transparency, I’m approaching this as a work-in-progress because I also mispronounce some Hawaiian words, not because I don’t know, but because sometimes I slip up.
