EDF 6 DLC 1-14 yes, Naegling sucks doesn't it.... Air Raider Inferno ( Earth Defense Force 6 )

Most players dismiss the Naegling as a trash vehicle but it's not. It's one of the best Air Raider's vehicles, and provides unique solutions to some missions. Yes, it has the downside of its feeble armor, but if you make clever use of it you can overcome that deficiency. This is such a mission and it's a pretty nasty one.

The terrain on this mission isn't favorable for Ranger and Air Raider, either on foot or inside a vehicle. The main key to solving the mission is to try to protect the NPC Nyxes so that they survive for as long as possible.

The weapons I used were level 84 Heavy Bomber Vesta DA, the 86 Combat Bomber KM6 Plan Z4, the 88 Heavy Bomber Phobos Z Plan 4, the 64 Guard Post M3 and the 80 Naegling Self-Propelled Missile Launcher XEM. Obviously, no DLC weapons.
Vestas work better on 6 than they did on 5. They will slow down enemies, and you can use the Naegling's missiles on them more easily.
KM6 Z4 is good here for the flyers and some ground enemies.
Phobos Z 4 is a great weapon for ground enemies (and some flyers with a bit of luck).
Guard Post M3 is a good option with Naegling. Up to 53% less damage is no slouch. I had 51.9% and it's still great.
Naegling XEM works very well here. Lots of small enemies to kill and keep at bay. If Naegling is viable, it can always enable a simple and effective solution to a mission. Naegling has very fast tracking. Try to get the missile launcher up before shooting the missiles, so that their path is higher and less prone to hit ground obstacles.

Mission flow is easy.
Use bombers to get a Naegling ASAP, which can be quick if you have it with good stars. Avoid hitting Naegling and Nyxes with Z4.
Capture some NPCs to provide protection.
Guard Post won't be necessary on the first wave, use it on the other 3. Sadly it's very awkward to use and install on EDF 6.
Use wisely Z4 to try to hit as many flyers as possible. Retreat with Naegling, using it on everything you can.
Try to be right and slightly front when the 2nd wave is appearing, left and slightly front when the 3rd and 4th waves are coming. This will help.
If necessary hide behind the hill, on the opposite side of where enemies are coming.

It's approachable and works quite well. I'm always happy when Naegling is still viable, particularly on more nasty and advanced missions.
