The thumb is the most mobile digit on the hand. It is used to help diagnose hypermobility through the Beighton score. For many people with hypermobility it has far too much range, causing pain and difficulty with every day tasks like writing or gripping. I decided to treat the thumb the same as any other joint: relax, control, reduce range and strengthen. This video looks at some ideas to do at home to help alleviate painful Hypermobile thumbs.
