Life Expectancy: Dyslexia and Health Literacy

The message is not: if you're #dyslexic, you'll die sooner.
The message is not: #dyslexia is a direct cause of early death.
But the message is: statistically, people with dyslexia are likely to die sooner than people without.
Why is this?...

Dyslexia is not simply an #education issue. It's also an issue of health literacy. Health literacy is the ability to read, take in, process, remember, comprehend, and correctly follow health advice, information, and instructions. And there's essentially no work done in the medical profession to apply an understanding of the importance of health literacy to dyslexia issues.

And this, horrifyingly, has a direct effect on the life expectancy of dyslexic patients...
