Police report:
“On 01/12/2022 I conducted a traffic stop on a silver Mitsubishi for traveling 53MPH in a 45MPH zone, and for failing to maintain a single lane. I approached the driver side of the vehicle and identified the driver as Brandon and the passenger as Joshua. When speaking with Brandon, I noticed the odor of mj emitting from the vehicle.

Another Deputy arrived on scene and, Brandon and Joshua were asked to exit the vehicle. Due to Brandon and Joshua reaching around the vehicle, and in back packs when they were in the vehicle, they were placed in handcuffs and detained. Both were read their Miranda Warning, stated they understood it, and agreed to continue to speak with me. Both stated they did not have medical cards.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, which yielded 2 different bags of, both weighing over 20 grams, 1 in a backpack that Joshua had between his legs, and 1 in a lunchbox in the rear of the vehicle, an open container that was between Joshua’s legs, and a Taurus 9mm that Joshua was sitting on.

While speaking with Joshua, I placed him in the vehicle and informed him he was under arrest. At this time, Joshua spun his legs towards the exterior door, as I was attempting to shut it, kicked the vehicle door, which caused it to strike my right hand. Joshua then had to be forced back into the vehicle by Deputies. He then was transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail, while on the way, he continued to hit the cage of the squad car.”
