More Road Rage Justice: Guy Goes off on Teen Driver

Police report:
“On May 11th, 2022 I responded in reference to criminal mischief. The subject was identified by his CT driver’s license as Richard. Richard was driving a black and orange Chevrolet. The victim was driving a gray Volkswagen.

Sgt. Jacob made contact with the victim at Circle K gas station. The victim was identified as juvenile N.M. He stated the following:

N.M was traveling behind Richard. Richard did not like N.M driving pattern and stopped in the roadway and exited his vehicle. He then approached N.M while he was still in his vehicle. N.M began recording Richard through the altercation. Richard then began pushing in N.M passenger window in an attempt to break the window. His finger prints could later be seen on the window consistent with N.M statement. He then broke the passenger side mirror. While N.M was recording, Richard slapped his phone out of his hand and in the process struck the victims hand. Richard then began kicking in the passenger door in damaging it. It should be noted there were no apparent marks or injuries on N.M

Contact was made with the Real-Time_crime_center to utilize cameras in the area to see the incident. However, there were no cameras in the area of the altercation and no video was obtained.

At this time, I made contact with the subject, Richard. Upon my arrival on his street, he immediately exited the residence and met with deputies. He stated the following:

He and another driver were yelling obscenities at one another as they were driving. The other driver was driving too closely to him. They both exited their vehicles, before N.M returned back to his vehicle. Richard stated that N.M threatened his family by saying he would shoot them. However, Richard did not see a firearm (N.M was holding the phone he was using to record the incident that Richard would later strike). Richard stated he did not damage N.M vehicle and that N.M vehicle and that N.M attempted to run him over.

It should be noted during the video, N.M does not state he would shoot richard.

After reviewing the video provided by N.M, Richard could be seen aggressively approaching his vehicle. He then strikes N.M and knocks the phone out of his hand. He could be heard yelling ‘get out the car so I can whoop your a**” even after N.M discloses that he is seventeen years of age. Richard then states “I’ll f****** break your s***” and “I’ll whoop your a** in front of the cops”. Additionally, Richard could be heard repeatedly striking N.M vehicle.

I asked Richard why he did not call law enforcement he stated he was consoling his family, and wanted to call at a later time.”
