Hey guys.
This is the Part 23 of AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate course. In this section we are going to learn about Route 53 using Simple Routing Policy and with a Demo at the end.

Below are the steps need for the demo:

Demo on Route 53: Simple Routing Policy

1) Create a domain in Freenom.com (To avoid additional charges, as this is free for 12 months)
2) Create a Hosted Zone in Route 53 and then Goto Freenom.com website.
3) Select Manage Domain from Freenom.com and then click on nameservers.
4) In Route 53, Create a Hosted zone for your domain created in Freenom.com and then copy the NS (Name Servers) on to freenom.com to map it to Route 53 Name servers.
5) Create an EC2 instance and copy the Public IPV4 address. As this will be used to map it to A name record.
6) Create an A Name record set in your Hosted Zone and key in the IPV4 address of your EC2 in the Value section and Select Simple Routing policy.
7)Note: The EC2 Instance should have ICMP & SSH protocol in the Security group to be able to ping the domain name used in A name record.
8) Now, Login to the EC2 using Putty and then try to ping yourdomain registered in freenom and this should return the IP address of your EC2 instance.

Voila !!! we have successfully completed the Demo. Please dont forget to delete the A name record, followed by Hosted Zone and EC2 Instance to avoid additional charges. As Hosted zone is chargeable after 12 hours.
