Canoeing On North America's Largest Paddle Only Lake - Murtle Lake

Описание к видео Canoeing On North America's Largest Paddle Only Lake - Murtle Lake

In this episode, I take my big summer vanlife roadtrip to Murtle Lake to go canoeing. Murtle Lake is in Wells Gray Provincial Park, and it's the biggest paddle only lake in North America. It's also a big time bucket list canoe trip for BC paddlers, one that I have always wanted today. It all starts with a 2.5 kilometer paddle to the lake, well lagoon, which you then paddle on to get to the lake. The lake itself is absolutely huge and is divided up into two arms, the west arm and the north arm. In this video I paddle the west arm, and there will be a second video next week that will cover my journey up the north end. The west arm is tamer than the north, and was absolutely beautiful. I camped on great beaches and had even better sunsets. I did have a little failure in there when I wanted to hike to Mcdougal Falls, but once in the diamond lagoon, I discovered there was no bear cache at the trailhead. All was not lost though, like my campsite mates I ran into said, "we're not here to go hiking, we're here to go canoeing."
They were absolutely right, I was there yo go canoeing. And that's what this video is a 2 day vlog of a beautiful canoe trip on the west arm of Murtle Lake.

Definitely stay tuned for next weeks video on the north arm, things get quite a bit more interesting...
