Vampire Savior [Arcade] - play as Dark Force Lord Rapter

Описание к видео Vampire Savior [Arcade] - play as Dark Force Lord Rapter

This is a demonstration of Dark Force Lord Rapter in the Arcade version of Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire. Read on below for more information...

Dark Force Lord Rapter is the Dark Force version of him, seen when regular Lord Rapter activates his Dark Force during a fight, where he is armed with a chainsaw. This version of him turns out to be a completely separate character in the game's data.

Therefore that makes him a playable character, but he cannot be selected as a "normal" character.

The video demonstrates his moves, then it shows the flaws, and then the fight against his final boss and his ending.

Here is the information on this character:

---- On the character select screen, he appears with a Baby Bonnie Hood portrait image, but the colours are flawed. The actual character/sprites are of his lower half.

---- Same as above on the versus screen.

---- Because he is an original Dark Force character, his sprites flickers yellow/gold during a fight.

---- In the fight screen, his name underneath the lifebar is missing the 'r' letter at the end.

---- Rather surprisingly, his pre-fight intro uses the same animation as when normal Rapter activates his Dark Force. It's almost like it's been intended.

---- His winning/victory screen portrait is Baby Bonnie Hood's image, but the colours on it are messed up. The quote however, is actually Lord Rapter's.

---- He has no music on his winning/victory screen.

---- If you attempt to play through single-player mode with him, the game will lock and reset before the first match starts after the versus screen. This is because he has no "fight plan" or "path" programmed in, and the reason for the lock up is because he faces against an "out-of-bounds" opponent as his first match. This explains the flawed Jedah image on the 2P side on the versus screen.

---- Despite not being able to play though single-player mode with him, it is possible to use a trick to fight against his "final boss" and complete the game with him to see his ending.

---- Using the trick above, his final boss is Jedah. In the dialogue, Jedah responds to him as if he was talking to normal Rapter.

---- His ending uses normal Lord Rapter's ending, but the colours in the images and text are very flawed.

---- After the credits, he cannot appear on the Score Ranking screen. The game just locks and resets itself.

===== About Vampire Savior =====
Vampire Savior took all the elements of the previous two games and refined it into one smooth package. A drawback to the arcade version is the fact that the three characters Huitzil, Pyron and Donovan have been omitted. This was reportedly due to memory limitations of the CPS-2 system.

A major change to the gameplay is that it no longer uses a traditional rounds system. Instead, matches are now just "one single round", where each fighter gets a number of "lives" per match. Each life equates to a full lifebar, and is represented by the bat icon(s) underneath the lifebar. Lose all of these bats and you're finished. This system is known to have been somewhat criticized by players due to the fact that if one player manages to stay on his 1st lifebar retaining most of his life and the other player is already onto his 2nd lifebar, it would make comebacks even more difficult and that it gives higher-skilled players even more of an advantage over lower-skilled players.

Make no mistake... Vampire Savior is a work of art, and is definitely one of Capcom's finest games in my opinion. The level of genius and ideas that went into this franchise is incredible. The game is over 20 years old at this time of writing, but I'm willing to bet that a lot of fighting game players have NOT seen absolutely everything in this game yet. ; )
