Chordplay - Chord Construction FAQ

Описание к видео Chordplay - Chord Construction FAQ

Here's the next episode of Chordplay with a lesson that came directly from your requests and comments - Chord Construction FAQ.
I've received a number of requests and questions surrounding chord construction and chord identification, and while this area of music theory is elusive to many that tackle it, there are a few simple ideas that can make this entire process easier to understand and a little less painful.

This lesson takes the process of chord construction to a new place and overall approach, as we're selecting a single chord (A minor) and making a variety of alterations and variations to that chord, which reveals how easy it is to rework a chord and locate a variety of extensions and mutations at the same time.

This type of chord study is rather common, but I haven't really noticed people discussing or talking about this strategy of learning about and locating chords. Keep in mind there are hundreds (if not thousands) of different ways you can approach and work through this material, so the idea I've presented here is only one of those mental strategies for learning this information, which is really just a glorified "chord search."

This is only the first step and episode in this particular series, but I plan on creating a few additional lessons revolving around this topic and subject matter.
