Описание к видео Thursday Talks | S2 E2 | Neal Shasore | The Past in the Future.

On the 21st of September, Neal Shasore, our very own Head of School, offered his reflections on some formative moments in the formation of the modern architectural profession and how historic insights might help shape its future. He will look in particular at the 1920s and 1930s - a pivotal period in the 'boring revolution' which birthed the modern architect - and the social infrastructure of the proto welfare state.

Drawing on a decade of research in this field, Neal discussed his recent publications, Designs on Democracy: Architecture and the Public in Interwar London and Reconstruction: Architecture, Society and the Aftermath of the First World War, both of which have been recently shortlisted for the Society of Architectural Historians of Great Britain's awards programme.
