Canon XA70 Amateur Unboxing

Released in November 2022, at the time of this video there was hardly any information on YouTube regarding the Canon XA70 so even though I am not a reviewer I thought I would do a quick unboxing just to put the information out there. I was disappointed that there is no battery charger included and also no remote control.

My first time filming I noticed there were green dots that appeared and I am hoping that they will go away and it just was something to do with being brand new and out of the box. I tried different color backgrounds and cleaning the lens etc., all the typical things that you would do but I guess time will tell.

The Canon XA70 Professional UHD 4K Camcorder is a compact, lightweight camera featuring UHD 4K capture, a 1" CMOS sensor, two XLR audio inputs, and one mini-HDMI output.

The camera records UHD 4K30 and Full HD 1080P captured to dual SD card slots in XF-AVC and MP4 formats, and it outputs to a mini-HDMI port. The dual SD card slots allow for automatic switching from one card to another, as well as simultaneous recording to both.

As gar as audio, the XA70 features up to four channels with manual and automatic recording levels, two XLR inputs with phantom power, and a 3.5mm stereo mini input. It features a built-in stereo microphone as well as a headphone jack.

//GLARING MISTAKE: In the video I showed a blue arrow indicating where to plug in the USBC for power that is actually a USBC input for connection to a PC, NOT for power! I plugged the power in to the wrong input and it did not hurt anything but I thought it was important to point out the error.//
