A Fly For FRESH SALMON- Green Highlander

Here I tie a cascade style green highlander salmon shrimp fly. The green highlander is one of the most successful colour combination for fresh fish from spring through to summer. Green and yellow are particularly good colours for clear water that you get in spring or low water in summer.

Tag: Silver oval tinsel or wire
Tail: Yellow and green bucktail mixed with pearl flash over
Rear body: Yellow floss
Front body: Green floss
Rib: Silver oval tinsel or wire
Wing: Brown or ginger hair
Hackle: Green chartreuse over yellow
UK Reared jungle cock
Fluorescent head
