What the early American colonists had to do for a land grant in NH Crazy!

Описание к видео What the early American colonists had to do for a land grant in NH Crazy!

Back in the colonial days of America have you ever wondered how the settlers came to live where they did? The land was granted out by the King but it was not free. They had to clear acres of land, build a structure and improve the land by strict guidelines. They had to get the land cleared, fenced in and ready for mowing and plowing. After a year of being on the land is when they were required to bail a house to specific dimensions. The settlers did not just get off a boat and head into the wilderness and claim the land for themselves. It was all under British rule and they had guidelines to follow. They had to build rock walls, dig wells, build a house, build a barn and maintain survival. This is us out in the woods of New Hampshire discussing this history and we are actually out on one of the earliest settled grant sites in this NH town. This is awesome New England history that will really make you think.
